Christmas Family Pictures

Preparing for the holidays allowed us to go get some pictures for this year's Christmas card. The temperature was extremely cold but we made it. Here are a few of the good ones and the okay ones. Trying to get everyone to smile at the same time is extremely difficult!

Paid Labor

After months of waiting, the hospital where I do my clinicals (Utah Valley Regional Medical Center) finally decided to hire the students in my class. My job is as an LPT (limited practical technician) in the radiology department. At this point, I just fill in for those that are needing a day off in a few locations in Utah County. Just another step in the getting through school phase of life.

Walking!!

Trying to be as cool as his older brother, Jaxon decided it would be a good idea to walk at 9 MONTHS OLD!! He went pretty quick from crawling to walking and is all over the place since October. The time he started walking was close to the same time Blake broke his leg so we had a walking 9 month old and a crawling (due to pain) 3 year-old. While watching him have these accomplishments is super fun, he also has developed quite the naughty streak in him.

Broken Bone

As is the case for a typical three year-old, Blake has used his energy for both good and bad this year. The bad for him came just before Halloween as he was playing with his cousin and they both fell with Blake somehow on the bottom. The result was a Toddler's Fracture of the tibia and so he got to wear this lovely boot for a couple weeks. Thankfully, he has healed now and is back to his energetic self.

GO COUGARS

Yet another year for Blake and I to attend BYU football games. As you can see, Jaxon made it to one of the games and we thoroughly enjoyed watching as BYU beat Utah in overtime. This has been a fun tradition for us each year and we hope to enjoy more winning seasons.

Busy Schedules

How crazy it is to think that it has been three months since I was last able to update this blog. Our lives have been a roller coaster of events and the hours to do anything but take care of the boys and do school work are limited. Thankfully we have made it through mostly without incident. During these crazy times of life, I take comfort to know that there is a plan for our lives and if we continue faithful, we will be blessed for being "anxiously engaged" in a good cause.

Another Important Moment in Life

Blake has started school!! He gets to go to pre-school every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 and so far he has had so much fun. The days have gone by quickly and I sit back now a realize that this is the beginning of a lot of school years!! He loves his "pack-pack" that he got for school and also his new shirt to be in fashion with the other 3 year olds. Isn't he just a handsome young guy?

On the move

So it has happened, Jaxon is finally on the move! Here he is in a quick video of the now soon to be 8 month old boy trying to crawl. We are excited to have him on the move but it now also means that we need to make sure we baby proof our house. Both Erica and I cannot believe how quickly this little boy is growing out of the baby phase of life!! TOO FAST!!

Lunch at the Hospital

Erica and the boys came to the hospital today while I was doing my clinical shift in the OR and we got to enjoy a fun lunch together!! As you can see, Jaxon just wanted to eat my badge most of the time we were together. We got to have quesadillas that were made by my student coordinator and one of our OR techs. It was a lot of fun and really yummy too!

I get the fun of being here at the hospital three days a week on normally Monday, Wednesday and Friday and this is one of the few opportunities I have ever had to enjoy lunch with us all together. We will all be happier when school is over and we get more chances to be together for meals at home!! But for now, we'll take what we can get!!

What an exciting and extremely stressful day it was on Wednesday because I took my test to become a Limited Scope Radiology Technician which means that I am able to get paid now at least something!! I will not get the results until 3-5 weeks but I am just glad it is done with. I had to drive all the way to Ogden for a test that was scheduled to be 245 minutes long. Another step forward in the "getting through school" phase of life!!

Time to use this!!

So, the time has come to actually keep this up to date so I have made it my new goal to update our blog more often so ya'll can know what is happening in life. Our little family is living in Pleasant Grove, Utah while I (Devin) am in the Radiology Tech program at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center (through Weber State University). Erica has the wonderful and incredibly exhausting task of staying at home with our two boys Blake (3) and Jaxon (7 months). Fortunately we have family close and get to spend every weekend with one side of the family or the other. We look forward to keeping everyone better updated moving forward!!

Vacation to Indiana

So, we took a family trip to Indiana this year for the baptism of our nephew and cousin Jimmy. It was a fun trip and the boys actually did pretty good on the plane rides.

Jaxon just recently cut through his two teeth and this is the only picture that shows clearly those teeth. He loved this swing and smiled everytime.

Blake was having the time of his life while being thrown in the air and having auntie Melanie take pictures!
